5 Things to do After You Post a New Video On YouTube For Future Success!

Hey, what's up you guys it's Annie, I help you to spread your message on social media and grow your influence. In this blog,
I want to do the complete opposite and share with you guys five different things every single creator should be doing after every single upload to maximize their videos and channels' chance for future success.
These are all things that are ways to help you to improve your current strategy help you to make better content going forward, give you super important insight into your most active audience and help you to maximize your channels chances for future success.
First Things Check Your Videos Optimization Score
So the very first thing I recommend doing after every single upload is to check your videos optimization score after you have scheduled a new upload, Which I always recommend you schedule every single upload for a future date and or time so that you have a chance to make necessary changes before it goes live and people watch it.
So once you have scheduled your new uploaded the first thing you should do is check your videos optimization score without fail on every one of my videos, somebody comments I'm doing everything I can possibly do.
But my videos are not getting views. I'm not reaching an audience. I'm not getting subscribers. I don't know what to do and without fail every single time if I check their channel and look at their most recent uploads, when I look at their optimization score, it is really really weak.
Now what I mean by optimization score and strength, if you've ever heard me talk about buddy SEO optimization ranking videos in search, all of those things are 100% dependent on your optimization score and how well you optimize your videos.
So once you have uploaded a new video to YouTube and you have perfectly optimized your video if you then go on to that videos, watch the page and look at the sidebar of the video.
It's going to tell you out of 100 what your videos optimization score is and I can 100% tell you that even like four years later, knowing all this stuff like the back of my hand, I always check my optimization score every single time because without fail,
I have forgotten something I've left something out at which point I do not have a 100% score and there's still something to be done something to change and something to do better.
So for that reason, it is a very important part of my post Upload routine to always check the optimization score of my video, and even better if you have the pro level or higher up to Buddy you can actually use what is called the SEO Studio tool, or basically,
You type in your videos title and or the keyword you're targeting and it will take you to step by step the entire process top to bottom until your video has a 100% SEO score so that you can totally maximize your views and give your video its best chance at growth and reaching a new audience.
If you don't already have to buddy I'll have it linked down below in my description box so that you guys can check it out for free and try all of these tools but that is definitely a super essential part of my post Upload routine to maximize my views and chance at success.
REPLY TO COMMENTS
Something else I totally recommend you do after every single upload is to answer every single comment on your videos.
Usually, after I first upload a video I hang around for like an hour or two to answer all the comments as they're coming in.
And then I answer all the rest of them within like 24 hours of uploading. You have to remember that comments on your videos play different but equally important parts when it comes to your videos' engagement and success.
- Firstly, comments are part of what's known as performance metrics on YouTube, where essentially comments are part of your video's engagement, which tells YouTube's algorithm directly how people are interacting with your video.
- Secondly, getting and replying to every single comment on your videos is a very important part of building a super-engaged audience that continuously comes back to every new upload because unfortunately,
Most creators don't take time to sit down and answer all their comments and get back to people who take the time out of their day to engage with their content.
IF YOU ARE A RARE CREATOR
So if you are a rare creator in a sea of people and not answering their comments and you answer every single comment,
Then you make your commenters feel seen feel valued feel respected, which is then just going to further encourage your audience members to come back to future uploads and keep commenting on your videos because they know you answer them every single time now I do know that not everybody and especially non newer creators always get comments on their videos, which does not always mean that your content sucks or it's not worth commenting on. Just a lot of the time people don't really know what to say or comment on your videos.
So one thing I found to be incredibly helpful when I was first getting started on YouTube was to actually prompt people to comment on your videos.
So basically, I would comment on my own video and pin that comment under the video and I would just say something like what did you think of this or what is your favorite and this or something like a prompted question that has to do with the content of my video.
What I really just found is that having that kind of a prompt and prompting people to know what to comment on usually led to getting more comments and more engagement.
When people know that you are expecting comments and you're going to be replying to every single comment.
They then feel a lot more encouraged to actually take the time to comment on your videos. So for that reason replying to every single comment on my videos is a very important part of my post Upload routine.
TAKE ADVANTAGE OF
Now something else you definitely want to take advantage of when it comes to the future success of your content on your channel are the analytics that pops up on your new uploads 30 minutes, two hours, and 48 hours after you first upload a new video.
So after your video has been uploaded for 30 minutes, YouTube then adds a little ranking in the analytics that tells you out of your last 10 uploads.
How fast did this video get views versus the other ones? Now, this is more kind of like surface-level stuff.
I really don't think that views and how fast AI views play a bigger part in the overall performance of your video but this will tell you if this is a topic that a lot of your audience tends to be interested in or not.
Engagement Concerned
And then two hours after you first upload your video you get a second update where engagement is concerned.
This is going to tell you the click-through rate the average view duration, the audience retention, and again how that all compares to your last 10 uploads.
Now, these analytics paint a much bigger picture of where your overall performance and engagement are concerned.
And these analytics are a little bit more clutch because these are the exact same analytics that the algorithm is looking at so these analytics are really your best chance to see exactly what the algorithm sees when it looks at your video's performance.
And why or why not the algorithm is pushing out your video. Is this video keeping people watching did your title and thumbnail and topic get your viewers to click on your video and is this better or worse than your average upload?
And these analytics are really going to help you to take notes on what works and what doesn't work to apply to future uploads.
This Information Is So Important.
And then after 48 hours that your video has been on YouTube, this is when you get a much bigger much more complete look at your video's overall analytics and performance and I definitely recommend you look into it a lot deeper because this information is so so important.
You can see in your videos traffic sources, how are people finding this video and how are they not finding your video?
You can also see this in your audience retention report. Where are people coming onto the video? Where did they leave?
Where did they skipping so that again all that can be applied to your future content? Now keep in mind that YouTube's algorithm already sees all of this, it is already registering all of this whether or not it shares that information with you.
So the only reason that we are given access to these analytics is to use them to our advantage as creators to make better content and most definitely reading and decoding, understanding, and analyzing all of this is so so key to our future success as creators.
So that is one more thing I like to do after every single upload to make sure I'm putting my best foot forward when it comes to creating content with my audience and performance in mind.
RE-PROMOTE
So then the next recommendation I have to maximize the reach of your video and make sure your videos are reaching the most people possible is to wait maybe like a day or two after you first upload your video and then post about it on your Instagram,
Your Twitter, your blog, your Facebook and any other platforms you have at your disposal because while your most active audience has your notifications on and they watch your video in the first like 24 hours you upload it not everyone goes on YouTube every single day.
Sometimes I watch a video the second it comes out once I get the notification. Other times I wait like a week after a video has come out to watch it and I am most definitely not the only person who does that.
Which is why my videos get like 2000 views 2500 views on day one. And then like a week later, it has 3000 views.
4000 views sometimes even like 10,000 views because not everybody is watching YouTube every single day. Some people catch up on Friday or on the weekend and then your videos get views later.
Social Media Boost Your Videos
But what can happen is let's say that you upload on Tuesday, but most of your audience is active on Friday or on the weekend.
Then what happens is that after Tuesday over all those other days, then your subscribers have more and more videos piling up in their sub box and yours is falling lower and lower.
And lower. So if you wait a couple of days and then post about your new video again on social media, then you're giving your video another chance at exposure and another boot so that if some of your subscribers didn't get notified it didn't get the video in their sub box.
Well, then you're giving your video which has a whole new life. And more exposure. And also something else not everybody realizes or thinks about is that if you do give your video a new boost and a new wave of people come from your other socials onto YouTube.
Well, then the algorithm registers that as a whole new wave of engagement that boosts your video further.
So that is why I highly recommend waiting a couple of days after you first upload have to then re-promote your video on social media and give it a second boost.
REWARD YOURSELF
And then the last thing that is super important to do as a creator after you've uploaded a new video is to reward yourself after you've just spent all that time planning content filming, editing, uploading,
Analyzing all of that you've put in a lot of work and as creators always trying to uplevel ourselves and chasing after new milestones we can often forget to just stop and relax between uploads.
For Your Mental Health
So it is just really important for your mental health as a creator and your overall integrity as a creator.
That you are making that time for yourself that you are turning off your screens and looking away from analytics and putting away your cameras and doing something that is non-work related and non-YouTube related and just for yourself and your well-being and your mental health.
It has been scientifically proven that rewarding yourself for smaller achievements. can actually help you reach your longer-term goals a lot faster and a lot sooner.
So for that reason, taking time to reward yourself and take care of your mental health is an integral part of your post Upload routine. So yeah, you guys that is it for this video.
Those are the five things I highly recommend you do after every single upload to maximize the chance of your future success for your videos and for your channel.
